One in five African children do not survive long enough to see their sixth birthday.

As economic growth proves elusive, wars continue unabated, droughts become frequent, and the HIV and AIDS pandemic spreads, their future looks even bleaker.

The African Child Policy Forum wants to bring about change in the situation of African children to infuse their future with hope, energy and a chance to break free from the myriad of difficulties that inhibit their growth and development.

The African Child Policy Forum is an independent, pan-African advocacy organisation working for the realisation of children’s rights. The work of the Forum is rights-based, inspired by universal values and informed by global experiences and knowledge.

We aim to provide a forum for dialogue, contribute to improved knowledge of the problems facing African children, identify policy options and strengthen the capacity of non-governmental organisations and governments to develop and implement effective pro-child policies and programmes.
