Most of the statistics provided here are compiled from various sources: National Statistical Offices; AU; UNICEF; UNESCO; the UN Statistics Division; WHO; ILO; the official MDG indicators website of UNDP; UN Population Division; IMF; The Wold Bank; African Development Bank (AfDB); the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), and the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCP).The information on the legal and policy frameworks are generated mostly from country reports submitted to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, its concluding observations, progress reports on the implementation of the AU Plan of Action on Children, Africa Fit for Children as well as from ACPF studies and resources.
