International Policy Conference on the African Child (IPC)
The International Policy Conference on the African Child (IPC) is ACPF’s flagship biennial event aimed at promoting policy dialogue. It provides a platform for leading thinkers, policy makers, practitioners and activists to positively engage and interact on the challenges facing children in Africa and the policy choices that governments could consider to promote children’s rights and wellbeing. The next IPC will be held in 2024.

9th IPC: Climate Change and Child Rights in Africa – Impact and Accountability (2022)
The 9th IPC, focused on the role of climate change in reversing progress made in children’s rights in Africa and to situate the African child within the climate crisis discourse, thus trigger urgent policy and action. It was held between Africa Climate Week and the COP27 UN climate change talks in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, thus maximising opportunities to influence climate change policy and advocacy with respect to child rights.
