General Manager, Support for Sustainable Development, Ethiopia

Mr Solomon Legesse is the General Manager of Support for Sustainable Development (SSD). SSD is a local NGO known for its flagship program in Irrigation Agriculture, Disaster Risk Management and Women Economic Empowerment mainly in Afar National Regional State.

Mr Solomon has reputable experience for over 28 years in rural development specifically in Agriculture, Climate change adaptation and Mitigation, gender justice, and value chain development. He has served in government, local NGOs and International NGOs in different capacities. He has also served in Oxfam Canada and Oxfam Intermoon at the capacity of Country Representative during 2014-2016.

Mr Solomon has a Master’s degree in Management of Development from Larenstein University/ Netherlands in 2005, and BSC Degree in Agriculture from Haramaya University/ Ethiopia in 1991.
