Mr Robi Redda

Director, SouthSouthNorth; and CDKN, Ethiopia and Kenya Country Head

Robi Redda is the Director of SouthSouthNorth (SSN), a Cape Town based not-for-profit entity focusing on climate change, and the Ethiopia and Kenya Country Head for the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), which is a global programme implemented by SSN.

Robi is an environmental management specialist, with experience in environmental and social impact assessment, climate change adaptation and mitigation, climate finance, sustainable industrial development, and off-grid energy, having previously worked for the UN Environment Programme, UN Economic Commission for Africa, and the World Bank in East Africa in various roles. Robi has also been a consultant to the Ministry of National Development Planning of the Government of Zambia on access to international climate funds and also led the Ethiopia's national climate finance readiness programme, supporting the country’s Ministry of Finance in its direct access accreditation process and in proposal development process to international climate change funds.

Robi, who is currently studying in a doctoral programme for working professionals, at the University College London’s (UCL) School of Technology, Energy and Public Policy (STEaPP) in the UK, holds a BSc from the Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, MSc from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and a post-graduate diploma from Concordia University in Canada.
