Child Law Resources
ACPF’s Child Law Resources (CLR) database provides free access to comprehensive information on the international, regional and national legal and policy frameworks relating to children in Africa. It houses publicly available legal and policy resources relating to children in every African country, including declarations, guidelines, resolutions and rules adopted at international and regional levels, as well as thematic summaries of laws on children.
There is noticeable movement towards a harmonised legal and policy framework for children in Africa, and a positive trend by African states to meet their international and regional obligations through ratification and domestication of treaties, and reporting to child rights treaty bodies. However, there is a challenge accessing legal and policy information and an acute need for an up-to-date knowledge base.
The CLR attempts to addresses this need. Given that law reform and policy development is an ever-evolving process, we continuously collect, consolidate and update as many documents as we can – but we also rely on users to spot any gaps and provide missing information. Please email us with any relevant documents with the subject line “CLR.”
